DAIR Industries is a wholly owned subsidiary of Autodom following completion of the acquisition of its assets at the end of August 2010.
DAIR Dandenong commenced business in the 1960’s as a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry. It has since grown from a small stamping plant to a multi process manufacturing facility located in Dandenong South, Victoria. DAIR currently produces a range of complex value added metal assemblies for Toyota, Ford and Holden.
DAIR manufactured items found in most locally made vehicles include rear bumper assemblies, foot brakes, clutch mechanisms, hood hinges, parking brakes and car jacks.
In November 2008, DAIR acquired KOZMA Industries in Bayswater, Victoria. Then, in August 2009, DAIR acquired the business of Flexdrive Cables in New Gisborne. Both acquisitions brought with them a new range of products including seating mechanisms, complex cable assemblies and blow moulded products.
DAIR Dandenong offers capability in metal stamping (with presses ranging in size from 30t to 650t), value added assembly work, injection molding, CNC bending and routing, plasma cutting and specialised welded assemblies. DAIR New Gisborne offers capability in cable design and manufacture, blow moulding, injection moulding and value added assembly work.
The main manufacturing plant in Dandenong currently operates two shifts and employs 180 people. DAIR New Gisborne currently employs 40 people on a single shift. Both plants are accredited to TS16949 & ISO14001.
